Things You’ll Need

Helmet

Obviously. Keep your head safe while mountain biking! We have a great selection of new and used Smith Bike helmets at our store for both kids and adults.

Water bottles

Staying hydrated is key, especially when it’s 100 degrees outside. (It’s probably a good time to bike in the early mornings or the late evenings anyway) However, definitely bring water with you on the trail. Getting dehydrated is no joke in the desert!

Eye pro

Sunglasses are a must when riding dusty (and sometimes buggy) trails in Moab. Keep the grit and the sand out of your eyes easily with a pair of wrap-around sunglasses. Not to mention their primary use, shielding your sensitive eyes from the harsh desert sun!

Gloves

Gloves protect your hands from accumulating calluses when riding hard, but they also keep your hands warm when it’s cold outside. During mid-summer in Moab, that won’t be a problem, but gloves can still protect you during falls. The bottom line is, wear gloves, they’re good for your hands.

Headlamp

Crucial. Headlamps are essential for any outdoor activity, particularly when you’ll likely be biking later in the evening to beat this glorious summer heat.

Bike Shorts

Padded Bike shorts can help make your mountain biking adventure significantly more comfortable. While you don’t have to use bike shorts, we highly recommend them. Saddle sores are no joke!

Moisture Wicking Clothing

Staying cool is important in Moab. This summer Moab will get up to the mid 100’s! While we don’t recommend going biking in the heat of the day, you should still be mindful of the clothing you wear. Moisture-wicking clothing can keep you cool. Regulating body temperature is not to be taken lightly!
