EPIC view from the top of Abajo Peak this morning!

Snow.

Skiers & riders coming off the mountain yesterday reported heavy snowfall midday and fun riding conditions.  The Gold Basin weather station confirms that showing 16 inches of fresh that has settled out 13 1/2″ by this morning.  Park City appears to have picked up 9″ yesterday along with most of Colorado.  Telluride reports 6″ last night.

La Sal Mountain Road conditions.

Unknown conditions on the Loop Road, but it is generally plowed relatively early.  The Utah Avalanche Center is reporting that the Geyser Pass Road will NOT be plowed today since there is another storm moving through today.  Reports yesterday of a minor fender bender reinforce the need for caution, slow speeds, patience, and courtesy.  Apparently, there was also a gentleman on a single speed bike too!?!?

Grooming

We have not heard when the grooming program will begin for this season.  Watch our website for updates.

Weather

A break in the weather this morning will be followed by another storm that is forecast to drop even more snow on the La Sals starting around noon on toady.  It should be clearing by tomorrow.  I am not a weather forecaster, but the NOAA point forecast is showing up to 10″ possible!

Avalanche

Always visit our very own Moab Avalanche Center website for up to date information.  If you find that information useful, PLEASE consider a small (or large) donation.  Also, the main Utah Avalanche Website has an enormous amount of educational material.
