La Sal Mountain Snow Report 1-12-18
Snow
The Geyser Pass weather station at 9600′ is reporting 11″ of settled snow this morning. We’ll take it! That puts us at 33% of normal Snow Water Equivalent.
Grooming
The track was rolled yesterday morning into Gold Basin and to the top of Geyser Pass. The snow is fresh and slow, but smooth and very nice to ski on. It will be a little faster today and this weekend, but don’t forget to grab some easy wipe-on wax at Moab Gear Trader to enhance your glide. Watch our website current grooming information. Currently, you should plan on Sunday morning if you want fresh corduroy.
Road
Grand County Roads did a stupendous job of clearing the Geyser Pass Road to the winter trailhead. Thanks!
Backcountry
No turns yet, but it’s starting to fill in. Always visit our local avalanche forecast before heading up for avalanche, road, and grooming information: https://utahavalanchecenter.org/advisory/moab/
Weather
Clear and sunny for the near future is what we can expect with highs in the mid 30s.
