La Sal Mountains Conditions Update
Good evening from snowy Moab! The population of snow people increased dramatically in our beautiful valley today as children frolicked on every block.
Folks seeking solitude in the desert were rewarded with beautiful contrasting whites and reds. And our inventory of quality apparel for enjoying the snow dramatically decreased, so hurry in for the best selection. That also means that now is a great time to bring in your clean, quality outdoor gear and clothing to sell and earn a few extra bucks for the holidays. We are open from 8am to 9pm every day down at 300 S Main Street. Read on for an update on the La Sal Mountains:

Roads
Reports from Sunday evening were that the loop road was clear up to Sunset Corner, but became snowpacked after that building to 2-3″ of snow on the road and very slick. We do not know when there might be plowing on either the Loop Road or Geyser Pass but will certainly keep you updated to the best of our ability.
Snow
Reports were 16-18″ of new snow from this storm. Elevations higher up should have more accumulation. Before this storm most southerly slopes were bare and lingering October snow still covered the ground and barely skiable conditions were found on northerly and higher elevations. The Goldbasin snow stake seems to be inaccurate right now, so stay tuned for first hand report tomorrow.
Weather
This current storm is on its way out and Moab is expected to see lows in the low 20s tonight and 8 degrees at 10,000′. We should see high pressure and day time highs in the 40s in Moab and 20s in the mountains for the earlier half of the week. Watch those lows though with a frigid 4 degrees forecast fro 10,000′ and the low to mid teens in Spanish Valley. A storm system could possibly start affecting Moab by Thursday evening.
Grooming
Aas snow begins to build up at Geyser Pass, watch our website for current grooming conditions. Until then, stock up on all of your tuning and ski maintenance supplies right here in Moab at Moab Gear Trader. See you up there!
