Here is your Geyser Pass condition report for November 24th, 2016. Happy Thanksgiving and happy skiing!
Snow conditions.
Snow cover was more than enough for Nordic skiing, sledding, and snow shoeing on the Geyser pass road beyond the winter use parking lot. Coverage in the woods and off the road is just barely enough to ski, but judging by the amount of tracks, folks are eager to get out and enjoy it. Extreme caution should be used if you decide to risk it as rocks, stumps, down trees have minimal coverage. The bright side is there is so little snow that hazards are easy to spot.
Road conditions.
The La Sal Loop road is fully clear and down to pavement. Geyser pass road was fully plowed by Grand County, but does have wicked washboard.
Grooming
We have not heard when the grooming program will begin for this season. Watch our website for updates.
Weather
Clear weather is forecast until Saturday when a complex storm system enters the area. High pressure returns on Tuesday.
