La Sal Mountain Snow Report – Saturday, February 18th 2017

Plus Colorado River Snowpack Information

Snow

Gold Basin received a trace of snow this morning.  Currently Geyser Pass Snotel reports 143% of average SWE.  The NWS forecast discussion this morning specifically mentions the LA SAL & Abajo mountains as being favored by this system.  Up to 18″ of snow is forecast for 10,000′ along with a winter weather advisory.  Be careful up there!

Grooming

The track was groomed since 2/17/17.   Challenging wax conditions exist, so stop by the shop for advice and a full selection of Swix tuning supplies.

Road

The Geyser pass road has not been plowed recently, but is passable.  Snowfall forecasts this weekend could change that though, so travel prepared with a shovel, tow strap, food, and water!

Snowpack

Looking good out there!  Looks like another high water year!
