Hello Moab, I hope everyone is finding comfort in a new and different routine while practicing social distancing. Operations at the Moab Gear Trader have drastically shifted as the situation regarding the COVID-19 Virus has rapidly progressed. We have unfortunately had to shift down operations to include only Marshall and some staff on-call as needed.

Know that this was a difficult decision to make for everyone, and that we would love nothing more than to return to normal operations. However, the situation has evolved in such a way that our best options for serving the community and providing gear and equipment to those who still need it means taking a pause on normalcy. It’ll be like the good ol days during the beginning of Operations for the time being, except that being inside the store and chatting in close proximity is unfortunately no longer a safe option. The times are changing.

The New Normal

With that being said, we are still open with very limited operations. Our new hours are 9-5, or sometimes 6ish. All orders are being made over the phone, through our online shop, or curbside pickup at the shop. Please respect social distancing guidelines and remain 6 feet away from the door as we get your gear, safely and bug-free, into your hands. We are also offering digital shopping options via Facetime or Duo. Hooray for technology! what would we do without it?

The team, up until today, was working very hard to get the new system online. We are all practicing social distancing at home now, trying to enjoy the outdoors in cautious and responsible ways, and awaiting the next new wave of news concerning the global pandemic. We all enjoyed our last moments in the shop for now. Here are some of our gear experts making the best of difficult times.

We will continue to serve the Moab community as long as we can in any capacity we deem safe and with the utmost care and intention in protecting the health and wellbeing of the community. It is our greatest hope that conditions improve and we can return to operations that resemble normal. For now, it’s been great to work with the Gear Trader family and I look forward to returning to work when conditions allow.
